  Manfred Gruber:Kaindl has been proving how innovative a company can be for more than one hundred years: what began as a small saw mill in Lungötz in 1897 is now conquering the world with new ideas and products from its base in Salzburg. As a global player Kaindl is one of the leading manufacturers of refined wood materials, as well as laminate and real wood flooring. An outgoing success story written day after day by aroung 800 employees.

  In the worldwide home improvement industry, KAINDL is regarded as the most competitive European construction material brand with more than one hundred history. Would you please make an introduction of its market performance in 2010? How about the market share of KAINDL in the worldwide flooring industry, in your opinion?

  Manfred Gruber: Kaindl produces 60 Mio m² Wood- and Laminate flooring per year and is market leader in this Sector. Furthermore Kaindl is well known in the industry as one of the biggest and most innovative producer of wood based panels, worktops, laminates, wood veneered boards and other specialized items related to this sector。

  420 Mill. eur turnover per year and products exported into more than 100 countries in the world are reflecting the success in the market。

  During the past two years, market competence of the international flooring industry  is getting tougher and tougher. Most brands do their best and try anything to against it. What measures/ actions will KAINDL do to deal with the competence?

  Manfred Gruber:To answer the market needs Kaindl developed a new range of products which gives our long-term partners flexibility in the market and the possibility to offer innovative designs which are unique. The key of success are strong concepts and high quality products in the market。

  Please introduce for us why KAINDL chosen to enter into Chinese market。

  Manfred Gruber:In the chinese market Kaindl products are sold for now about 20 years and we have already very good experience in this market. Chinese end consumers are getting more and more brand conscious and require diversified products away from the mass, so it was a must that our well known and strong brand KAINDL is present in China as well。

  KAINDL focused on the research of high quality flooring and the promotion of environmental-protection products in the past decade. It’s said that KAINDL invested billions of Euro to build the most advanced e-factory, from where KAINDL two and KAINDL three collection were produced ( In order to make a better promotion of these two collections, we named them as high-tech ground heat solid wood flooring in china). They means a new breakthrough with the advanced structure and design, also regarded as one of the best solid wood floorings. Would you please make an introduction of the two collections for us?

  Manfred Gruber:The whole Flooring collection produced by Kaindl (Wood flooring and Laminate flooring) wears the Greenguard certificate which shows the awareness of the importance of producing environmental friendly products. Kaindl Wood flooring gives our partners the possibility to offer something unique in the industry as Kaindl Wood flooring opens new ways in decoration and interior design and with different new and patented technologies it is also possible to even customize surface and appearance of our wood。

  On the other hand Kaindl developed on concepts and designs for a very exquisite Laminate flooring collection and can offer now even special topics like leather, rust, block wood and stones which were inquiries from the market。

  Manfred Gruber:Having production in the well known world heritage city Salzburg, Kaindl feels responsible to be part of it and invested billions of Euros to protect the environment which also results in much cleaner products than the standard allows. Like this we can ensure healthy living and working conditions for everybody of us。

  Only as one example we want to mention that our raw material wood is mainly harvested in the closer surroundings which guarantees fresh and high qualities out of sustainable managed forests and short delivery ways which are getting more and more important in the future。

  All this sustainable and responsible handling of our environment is based on values as species protection, more ecological awareness and best products for our customers。

  How do you look upon the development tendency of KAINDL in China ,in the 1-2 years future ?

  Manfred Gruber:As Kaindl sales to China are growing constantly every year and together with the introduction of a new collection especially designed for China we are looking very optimistic into the future and are happy that our long-term partners can share the success with us。
